KISOG is an independent, scientific, non-governmental medical society serving gynecologists in Kurdistan. Based in Erbil, it aims to extend its work through branches in other Kurdish provinces.
Our vision
For women in Kurdistan–Iraq to achieve the highest possible standards of physical, mental, reproductive and sexual health throughout their lives.
Our commitment
Improve clinical care, advocate for women’s health nationally and internationally, and provide excellent support and services to society members.
Explore our 16 association goals
- Raising scientific level of doctors and gynecologists and encouraging scientific research. This can be done through holding conferences and lectures during which scientific research and expertise will be presented.
- Conducting medical and scientific research in cooperation with international universities to keep pace with the latest developments on medical education.
- Exchanging scientific expertise with the relevant regional and international associations and participate in the activities related to the field of gynecology.
- Adapting the most advanced curriculums and research methods practiced worldwide.
- Coordinating and strengthening ties with sub maternities at medical universities outside the Kurdish region.
- Establishing an academic and scientific network with gynecologists in advanced countries such as the United States.
- Holding scientific conferences with the participation of lecturers outside the region.
- Providing opportunities to participate in scientific trainings on the latest techniques on gynecology in and out of Kurdistan.
- Participating in medical conferences and events in the Arab world and elsewhere.
- Cooperating with other women’s health organizations to improve the health status of women.
- Stipulating the educational law to protect gynecologists legally.
- Cooperating with doctors’ syndicates and others related to the medical profession to secure the highest quality medical equipment for patients.
- Organizing the rules of how to manage a medical profession and cooperating with physicians’ syndicates in order to raise the scientific level in the region.
- Building up academic, scientific, social and cultural relations between society’s members and physicians from Iraq and other worldwide countries.
- Seeking doctors internationally from hospitals and universities to present medical and practical lectures on medical fields.
- Activating medical inquisition law so as to protect a doctor or a patient and eliminate any danger that might jeopardize their lives.
